Ahead of her 2025 Australian Open campaign, Elena Rybakina's coaching situation continues to grow more uncertain following fresh comments from new coach Goran Ivanišević.
World No.6 Rybakina joined forces with Ivanišević to commence the 2025 season, after parting ways with former coach Stefan Vukov in August last year.
The decision came after Vukov was placed under investigation for "breach of conduct" while coaching the 25-year-old; accusations that Rybakina has since strongly defended.
In denying the allegations, the Kazakh revealed that her coach of six years had "never abused anyone" and "never mistreated [her]".
She added, "Stefano is rejoining the team because I know the person for six years, and there [are] a lot of things we can do outside of the court too."

However, with Vukov unable to receive accreditation for the Australian Open, the Kazakh turned to the experienced Ivanišević, but possibly as a short-term measure.
The former coach of Novak Djokovic initially operated under the assumption that his tenure would be longer term, and has since grown to question his future role with team Rybakina following the comments.
"For the moment, I am here. What will happen in the coming days, I do not know," Ivanišević said.
"Hopefully, I will stay and everything will be fine. But let's take it day by day; it is a very strange situation."
"We hear different things every day; let's hope it wraps up by the end of the week."
