Croatian big-hitter Donna Vekić has appointed champion coach Sascha Bajin to take her to the next level after achieving her best season.
The 28-year-old achieved a career-high ranking of No.18 in October, most notably appearing in the Wimbledon semi-finals and clinching silver at the Paris Olympics earlier this year.
Bajin, named 2018 Coach of the Year, is well known for coaching Naomi Osaka to Grand Slam titles at the 2018 US Open and 2019 Australian Open.
He has also worked with players such as Karolína Plíšková, Dayana Yastremska, and Kristina Mladenovic and served as a hitting partner for Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka, and Caroline Wozniacki.
Last month, Vekić parted ways with her recent coach, Nick Horvat.
"Even though we have decided to part ways, I believe that Donna has many great tennis moments ahead of her, and I will always be proud of her success," wrote Horvat after the news was confirmed.
Hall of Famer Pam Shriver will still be in Vekić's corner as a support coach, with the former world No.3 American playing an integral part in her growth.
Vekić plans to begin her 2025 campaign representing Croatia at the United Cup.
