Brisbane local Priscilla Hon has captured her 12th career ITF title, defeating world No.206 Leonie Küng in her home state.
Hon prevailed 6-4 4-6 6-2 in two hours and 19 minutes at Pat Rafter Arena to add to her Brisbane ITFW25 title a decade ago and extend her positive record in finals to 12-2.
Along the journey, she managed to get the better of 16-year-old Aussie and No.1 ranked junior Emerson Jones in the semi-finals, problem-solving her way out of a one-set deficit while Jones twice served for the match.
Last year, the 26-year-old picked up two titles, including an ITF tournament in Playford at the end of November.
She also reached the final of the Brisbane International doubles event last month partnering with Anna Kalinskaya, which has continued her momentum.
Hon's latest title propels her to world No.168 in the live WTA rankings, 50 places shy of her career-high achieved in October 2019.
During the Covid era, she suffered a serious hip injury, keeping her out of the game for over 12 months.
Now, she is rediscovering her best tennis as confidence continues to grow for the remainder of the 2025 season.
