Australia’s Alexei Popyrin has announced his split from coach Xavier Malisse.
The 25-year-old Sydneysider posted on his Instagram story to share the sudden news with his 87,000 followers.
"Hey guys, Xavier Malisse and I have mutually decided to stop working together," Popyrin wrote. "I just want [to] thank [Xavier] for all the amazing memories, fun vibes and hard work! Thank you X-Man! (love heart emoji)."

Under Malisse’s guidance, Popyrin achieved a career-high world No.23 after winning the Montreal Masters title in August last year.
He became the first Australian to win an ATP Masters 1000 title since Lleyton Hewitt won Indian Wells in 2003.
Malisse was also in Popyrin’s corner when he famously defeated Novak Djokovic in the third-round of the 2024 US Open.
Popyrin has struggled of late, having failed to get past the second-round of his first six tournaments of the 2025 season.
