Nearly 18 months since his last professional appearance, Nick Kyrgios will begin his comeback at the upcoming Brisbane International.
The 29-year-old last appeared on the ATP Tour at the Stuttgart Open in June last year, losing to Yibing Wu in straight sets.
After two knee surgeries and a wrist reconstruction since the 2022 US Open, Kyrgios will return to the court before his highly-anticipated Australian Open homecoming.
Tournament director Cam Pearson is looking forward to Kyrgios being a main attraction for the fans.
“Nick, who has had success here in the past, will kick off his 2025 comeback in Brisbane… to entertain the crowds in a way that only Nick can.”
Kyrgios is a former champion in Brisbane, claiming the title in 2018.
“I can’t wait to start my Aussie summer here. The best fans in the world,” the former world No.13 said in a promotional video.
The Brisbane International returned in 2024 after a three-year hiatus, with Grigor Dimitrov and Elena Rybakina now the defending champions.
It all kicks off on December 29.
