Nick Kygrios has been named to play for Australia in Davis Cup for the first time in six years.
As part of his comeback, the 2022 Wimbledon Champion will be part of Lleyton Hewitt's team for the upcoming tie away to Sweden from January 31st - February 1st.
The Aussie team will be spearheaded by Alex de Minaur along with Jordan Thompson and Thanasi Kokkinakis in the hit and run mission the week after the Australian Open.
Sweden, once a powerhouse and Australia's great rivals in Davis Cup in the 1980's, when the two nations met on the grass of Kooyong in a batle of the titans have named Elias Ymer (No.327), Leo Borg (son of Bjorn No.543), Andre Goransson (No.69 Doubles) and Filip Bergevi (No.122 Doubles)

Elsewhere all eyes will be on Copenhagen for the 2025 Davis Cup Qualifier tie between Denmark and Serbia because it could feature a singles showdown between Novak Djokovic and Holger Rune on the second day’s play.
24-time major winner Djokovic has been named as part of a strong Serbian line-up to face hosts Denmark in front of a capacity crowd at the Royal Arena in the Danish capital on 31 January-1 February.
If results go according to rankings, the fourth match could see the 37-year-old Serbian legend face off against world No.13 Rune in the battle of the No.1 singles players.
Rune has beaten Djokovic in two of their six previous meetings and in all but the most recent loss at 2024 Wimbledon, the young Dane has always managed to take a set off his revered opponent.
With the advantage of playing at home, Denmark will be hoping to end Serbia’s 2025 Davis Cup campaign at the first hurdle.
There are plenty of other ties to look forward to, including Norway at home against Argentina on 30-31 January. The Norwegians have named world No.6 Casper Ruud in the same side as year-end junior world No.1 Nicolai Budkov Kjaer.
They will face a tough test against a tried and tested Argentina team that has made just one change from the line-up that reached the Davis Cup Final 8 last year. Maximo Gonzalez has called time on his Davis Cup career after eight years of service and will be replaced by Horacio Zeballos in debutant captain Javier Frana’s first team selection.
France have named a full-strength side as Paul-Henri Mathieu’s team were handed a tricky draw against Brazil. World No.14 Ugo Humbert and No.20 Arthur Fils represent a tough proposition in singles, but Brazil skipper Jamie Oncins will be hoping his young guns can also fire as he looks to Thiago Seyboth Wild and Joao Fonseca to lead his side into the second round of Qualifiers.
Almost all the teams have now been announced for the Qualifiers first round ties with the exception of Israel v Germany, who have both been given more time to pick their players due to the venue and surface still to be confirmed.
