Former junior No.1 Jason Kubler picked up his second title in 2025, albeit at the expense of Australian compatriot Cruz Hewitt in Launceston.
Kubler won the ITF M25 tournament on Sunday, using his experience to topple a resilient Hewitt 6-2 6-4.
Having achieved a career-high singles ranking of No.63 in April 2023, Kubler is again on the rise after missing 10 months of tennis last year due to injury. He now sits at No.446 in the live ATP standings.
The result ensures back-to-back titles for the 31-year-old Queenslander, who also lost in the Brisbane Challenger final against Adam Walton on Pat Rafter Arena last month — Kubler’s only defeat in his past 15 matches.
For Hewitt, it was nothing short of a breakout tournament, most notably notching his career-best win in the quarter-finals when he took down the world No.224 in the quarter-finals.

The 16-year-old is ranked 66th in the junior rankings and arrived at the Launceston event ranked No.1174.
