Just when you thought it couldn't happen again, former French Open champion Jeļena Ostapenko triumphed on the Stuttgart clay to maintain her extraordinary unbeaten streak over Iga Świątek.
The powerful-hitting Latvian recorded a 6-3 3-6 6-2 victory to topple world No.2 Świątek, enabling her to reach the semi-finals of the WTA 500 event in Germany.

It means Ostapenko has won all six head-to-head meetings against the five-time major winner, dating back to 2019.
"She [Iga] is [a] great clay court player as well. But you know, I won French Open, so I can say the same thing about myself," Ostapenko said after her three-set win.
When asked if Świątek hates to play her or if she likes to face the Polish star, Ostapenko replied, "I think both".
The 27-year-old will come up against unseeded Ekaterina Alexandrova for a spot in the final, after the Russian caused a straight sets upset to take down Jessica Pegula 6-0 6-4.
In the other semi-final, two-time Grand Slam finalist Jasmine Paolini aims to secure her first win against Aryna Sabalenka since March 2022.
