A tennis coach based on the Gold Coast has been "stood down" from his duties following child sex offence charges, including rape.

Reports of child sex offences were traced back to Ryan Kebblewhite, who coached at KDV Sport before the academy was notified about the alleged offences.

Kebblewhite, 38, was arrested by police on Sunday while directing a junior tennis event at the KDV Sports Centre in Carrara.

A Queensland police spokesperson commented on the situation.

"Police will allege the man repeatedly offended against a child, known to him through involvement in a sport academy, between 2021 and 2023," it read.

"Police have now charged a 38-year-old Burleigh Heads man with two counts each of rape and indecent treatment of a child under 16, and one count of grooming child under 16 years."

Ross Taylor, manager of KDV Sport Tennis Academy, sent a statement directly to concerned parents about the arrest, offering reassurance.

"A police investigation is currently underway, and, as a precautionary measure, the individual will be stood down from their duties while the matter is fully investigated," he said.

"As this matter is under investigation, we are unable to share specific details at this time until a full investigation has been conducted.

"However, we want to emphasise that we are taking this situation very seriously and the staff member is being fully co-operative with police.

"Your trust and satisfaction are incredibly important to us, and we will keep you updated with any relevant developments.

"We greatly appreciate your understanding and continued support during this process."

The case is being closely monitored by Tennis Australia, revealing they are prepared to "take any necessary risk mitigation actions".

Kebblewhite was granted bail on February 10 after appearing in Southport Magistrates Court, as he awaits another court hearing on March 4.
