Emerson Jones is one step away from reaching back-to-back junior Australian Open finals after escaping a slight scare in her quarter-final, but she is also going for the tournament double.
The 16-year-old rallied back from a one-set deficit to defeat unseeded Austrian Lilli Tagger 4-6 6-2 6-2 on 1573 Arena.
After claiming her maiden WTA Tour-level victory at the Adelaide International earlier this month, Jones will seek to go one better at Melbourne Park where she lost the final in straight sets 12 months ago.
The No.1 ranked junior now faces No.4 seed Sonobe Wakana of Japan in tomorrow's semi-final battle.

Jones is also bidding to become the first Australian junior since Omar Jasika in 2014 to win both the junior singles and doubles titles at the same Grand Slam event.
She has partnered alongside Britain's Hannah Klugman, knocking out fourth-seeds Vendula Valdmannova and Tereza Krejcova to set up a date with American duo Annika Penickova and Kristina Penickova in tomorrow's decider.
However, the fairytale run ended in the last-eight for Tahlia Kokkinis, bowing out to Jones' next opponent, Wakana, in straights.
The 16-year-old will hope her breakout run will propel her up the rankings and close in on making her debut on the WTA Tour.
In the boys' singles, a major shock occurred on Court 7 as No.1 seed and reigning champion Jan Kumstát suffered a straight-sets defeat in two tiebreaks against Switzerland's Henry Bernet.
