Alex de Minaur won his second-round match convincingly against American qualifier Tristan Boyer 6-2 6-4 6-3 to book his ticket to the round of 32.
Boyer comes from the town of Altadena, close to Los Angeles, which has been seriously affected by the relentless fires in California. Prior to the match, the American shared that his family needed to evacuate their home but continued to support him regardless of the circumstances.

De Minaur got broken in his opening service game due to errors helping the qualifier take an early 2-0 lead. That didn't stop the eighth-seed from firing back in the third game, breaking to love to bring it back on serve.
The No.1 ranked Aussie applied the pressure on the American’s serve and utilised his third break point of the game to go up 5-2, paving the way for a one-set lead.
De Minaur began 40-0 down in the first game of the second, but fought to break Boyer’s serve for the third straight time in the match.
The American finally broke the three-time Newcombe medalists' eight-game streak to hold serve. Boyer had no answers for de Minaur’s aggression, as the Aussie held to love to go up 3-1.
A wonderful touch backhand volley from down low highlighted de Minaur was in this match, once again finishing the game with an ace to lead 4-2.
Big-hitting by both players helped them each hold serve. De Minaur celebrated going up 5-3 with a loud "Come on".
De Minaur toyed with his less experienced opponent, showing his prowess with a glamorous drop shot en route to holding to go within touching distance of another victory.
The crowd sighed as Boyers shoelaces broke after he led 30-0 in the first game, but quickly clapped as he returned to serve and hold.
De Minaur continued to motivate himself, fist-pumping after a touch forehand volley winner on the first point of his service game. He continued to demonstrate his craft, holding to love yet again.
The 25-year-old opened up the third game with a brilliant forehand passing shot cross-court. Boyer tried to apply pressure at the net, but de Minaur had all the answers, willing himself on as he got three break point opportunities. He eventually used the third and pumped the crowd up with another break to lead 2-1 in the third.
The crowd roared as de Minaur created three match point opportunities on the Boyer serve.
However, he only required one, as he slammed a forehand winner to break to love and take the match, sending a packed Rod Laver Arena crowd erupting in delight.
During the on-court post-match interview, the Aussie praised his opponent while asserting his positive mindset.
"He’s a dangerous player," said de Minaur.
"Ultimately it was about me bringing the best version of myself.
In his post-match presser, de Minaur added that the crowd should "be ready for a battle" regarding his next match in the next round against Argentinian and 31st-seed Francisco Cerúndolo.
"He's a very dangerous player, very tricky. He's got a lot [of] firepower from the baseline with that forehand. He's had some big scalps on tour. He's not afraid to play some big matches.
"It's going to be a battle. I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a really tough one. I've got to be up for it from the very first point, bring that intensity, play some aggressive style of tennis, bring out a better version of myself, which I think I'm doing every day."
