
Former world No.1 and Australian tennis great Fred Stolle has died at 86.
Born in Hornsby, New South Wales, Stolle won 19 Grand Slam titles, including two in singles at the 1965 French Open and US Open, and 17 doubles majors.
Stolle was also a finalist in five major singles finals, with two coming at the Australian Open and three at Wimbledon.

He was a member of Australia's successful Davis Cup team, claiming three titles between 1964 and 1966.
Australia's Paul McNamee, former doubles world No.1, paid tribute to Stolle on X to thank him for his friendship while admitting his "legacy is perhaps unrivalled".
Darren Cahill was another former Australian player to send a heartfelt message, writing on his Instagram story: "RIP Fiery. A great man and a legend of our sport."
Having competed in the same era as Stolle, the legendary Rod Laver shared a touching post on X to remember a champion of Australian tennis.
Known as the voice of tennis, Stolle broadcasted for the Nine Network, Fox Sports and CBS.
Stolle was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1985. He was added to the Sport Australia Hall of Fame three years later.
