The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) confirms Australia's Thomas Fancutt has entered voluntary provisional suspension following a breach of the anti-doping program.

Fancutt, 30, failed to abide by Article 2.2 of the Tennis Anti-Doping Program (TADP) after being found to have used a Prohibited Method.

Having reached a career-high No.107 in doubles in December last year, Fancutt's ban comes into effect immediately, which began on March 19 2025.

In the ITIA's statement, it explains Fancutt's restrictions on the tour.

"During the provisional suspension, Fancutt is prohibited from playing in, coaching at, or attending any tennis event authorised or sanctioned by the members of the ITIA (ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon and USTA) or any national association," part of the statement read.

It follows the provisional suspension of Max Purcell, who also entered a voluntary ban after admitting to unknowingly receiving an IV infusion above the allowable limit of 100ml.

Despite yet knowing the full details of Fancutt's situation, Prohibited Methods can include the following:

  • Manipulation of blood and blood components

  • Chemical and physical manipulation

  • Gene and cell doping
