Tennis legend Mats Wilander has provided an extraordinary comment, claiming that Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz's quality is the highest the sport has ever seen.
The pair went toe-to-toe at the Beijing Open final where the Spaniard edged the world No.1 in a three-hour and 21-minute epic - extending their head-to-head meetings to 10.
Wilander, a seven-time Grand Slam champion and now Eurosport commentator, confessed that he has never witnessed better tennis than Sinner and Alcaraz.
"I hope Roger, Novak, and Rafa are not listening, but in terms of level, when Sinner and Alcaraz are at their best, there is no way anyone has ever played better tennis."
That comment did not bode well with fans of the 'Big 3,' taking aim on social media.
"Babahahaha jesus christ. This is embarrassing. 37 yr old Novak beats Alcarez & last year he was wiping the floor with them. He also got positive h2h against both. He is 37!!!! Imagine what a prime Novak would do," one fan wrote.
"This is just an absolute clickbait lie," said another fan.
Not mincing his words, another social media user expressed his opinion.
"Man this guy is off his rocker. Nothing compared to the battles between Novak and Rafa when both were in their prime."
