Australian icon Neale Fraser has tragically passed away aged 91, leaving the tennis world in mourning.
The former world No.1 excelled at Grand Slam events, claiming three singles titles (US Open 1959, 1960 and Wimbledon 1960), 11 doubles titles, and five in the mixed doubles to cement his legacy as one of the best of his generation.
After representing the green and gold for four years at Davis Cup level, the Melbourne-born great captained Australia from 1970 to 1994.
During that time, he helped Australia clinch four titles in 1973, 1977, 1983 and 1986.
"I could never think of anything better than representing your country," Fraser once proudly said.
Tennis Australia confirmed the sad news on social media, writing: "A true legend of Australian tennis, who will be missed by so many around the world. Vale Neale Fraser."
Earning the respect of many throughout his life, tributes flowed for Fraser as they remembered a legend of the sport.
To acknowledge his outstanding achievements, Fraser was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1984, before being included in the Australian Tennis Hall of Fame 10 years later.
