A total of 13 Aussies are guaranteed to feature in the second Grand Slam of 2025 at Roland-Garros.

Although clay is known to be the most unfavourable surface for Australians, a few players possess potential, including a new Aussie on the block.

Another increase in prize money will see all players who compete in the first-round earn A$139,000.

Aussie men singles list:

Alex de Minaur (No.7)

Alexei Popyrin (No.25)

Jordan Thompson (No.39)

Aleksandar Vukic (No.84)

Rinky Hijikata (No.85)

Adam Walton (No.86)

Christopher O'Connell (No.87)

James Duckworth (No.89)

World No.7 Alex de Minaur will once again arrive at a Grand Slam being the top-ranked Australian, who will look to go at least one better than his quarter-final showing in Paris last year.

"Last year I grew a lot on this surface, got a lot of confidence, and played some great tennis. I really started to understand my game and how I can be dangerous on this surface," de Minaur told The First Serve before his Monte Carlo Masters campaign earlier this month.

After a shaky start to the year, a quarter-final in Monte Carlo over two weeks ago could be the confidence-booster that Alexei Popyrin was craving. With a new coach in his corner in Wayne Ferreira and a top-32 seed secured, the 25-year-old will fancy his chances of bettering his second-round exit in 2019.

An injury cloud looms over Jordan Thompson following his singles withdrawal and doubles retirement in Barcelona last week, but Aleksandar Vukic, Rinky Hijikata, Adam Walton and Christopher O'Connell have a chance to surpass the opening round for the first time.

Aussie women singles list:

Daria Kasatkina (No.14)

Kimberly Birrell (No.62)

Maya Joint (No.78)

Ajla Tomljanović (No.79)

Olivia Gadecki (No.92)

Last year at Roland-Garros, Daria Saville was the only Australian woman who gained direct entry without qualifying for the singles main draw.

A semi-finalist at the French Open three years ago, Daria Kasatkina will fly the flag for Australia as the country's No.1 woman after defecting from Russia last month.

The world No.14, who has achieved a career-high No.8, will benefit from becoming the first Aussie seeded woman at the tournament since Ash Barty in 2021.

Maya Joint, 19, and Olivia Gadecki, 22, are set to compete in their maiden main draw at the French capital.

The French Open begins May 26.
